God of War: Ragnarok, the award-winning sequel of the award-winning reboot God of War, delivers not only a powerful continuation of Kratos's story, but a powerful continuation of his moveset as well.

PERMAFROST, IMMOLATION, and MAELSTROM are unlocked in the middle of the game's progression and offer new bounds of strength for skillful players, charging an expendable meter to massively buff the damage of one weapon, but lost when they are hit. Frost awakened attacks for the Leviathan Axe able to be stored, the Chaos Blades' ample range and crowd-control, and the Draupnir Spear's flexible staggering up close or at a distance can give players the openings they need through staggers or the best situation for each wepaon to charge up the fastest.

Handles for the different weapons are customizable, and can give helpful effects to mix up the player's gameplay, notable examples being the BANAHOGG KNOB, EMPRESS'S HANDLES, and OLYMPIC SAUROTEUR. Each give buffs of greater damage for Kratos, the sauroter being the most flexible with DETONATOR'S MIGHT available for all weapons, the knob good for switching to unarmed damage, and the Empress's blessing buff good for continuing flurries with the blades.

PERMAFROST LIFESTEAL, BURNING UNITY, and WEIGHTLESS RECOVERY, all also from different weapon handles, appeal more to Kratos's entire arsenal, supplementing the fundamental aspects of his stats like health, momentum, and cooldown, respectively. The handles of Burning Unity allow for Kratos to charge his momentum meters faster, in turn allowing the axe to activate permafrost for lifesteal or the spear for weightless recovery, the former obviously recovering lost health and the latter heavily boosting the recharge of relics and runic attacks for even more powerful moves.
